Manga Peke

"Manga Peke" is a manga magazine founded in 1978. As you can see from the title New Wave Entertainment on the cover, it was first published in advance of the New Wave movement that occurred around 1980, so it is often referred to as a ``too early New Wave magazine.'' There are many.

The publisher is Minori Shobo, and it was launched by staff members from around the manga criticism group ``Meikyuu'' sponsored by Comiket. The editor-in-chief is Koji Kawamoto, and works by teachers such as Hideo Azuma, Jun Ishikawa, Jiro Kuwata, Hideshi Hino, Ama Sabae, and Aki Uchiyama have also been published. Young people know that the genre called "new wave" has expanded into various genres.

The magazine ceased publication in 1979. After featuring "COM" in the final issue, it was taken over by "Monthly Comics Again."
